expectation means a strong belief that something will

happen or be the case and values means the regard that something

is held to deserve the importance, worth or usefulness of something

Mahi Time Letter

01.09.1981

Cabinet Office
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
Parliament Buildings
Wellington

Dear Robert  Muldoon,

I’m writing this because I want you to stop the springbok tour.

I have been reading the news papers and seen some things about brutal protesters in Auckland and wellington, By the New Zealand police force. I really think it needs to stop.

My other reason why I think the tour should stop is because there is way to much racism in South Africa. By us versing them in rugby shows that we support them. Maybe South Africa is to afraid to versus people of colour.

Can you please stop the tour immediately, for the best of our country.

Sincerely, Emma.

blogger prompt week 9

his week is all about ‘not giving up’.

We are almost at the end of term one and we thought this was the perfect time to chat about what to do when things get hard!

Watch the videos before answering the prompts. They may help develop your thinking around having the ‘courage to continue’.

1. "Failures open the doors to success!" Tell us about a time when you failed with something? One at Gymnastics i was doing a back walkover on the beam then my foot slipped and i fell, i split the beam ( splitting the beam is when your legs go on each side of the beam and you hit your privates ) from that i fell to the ground and scraped off half my butt.

2. Tell us about a time when you had success? What did you do to achieve success?
I won a Gymnastics competition. I had to work really hard at gym to get my routines perfect.

3. We are responsible for our own success and learning. Do you agree or disagree and why? I agree because if we don't try hard at things we wont do well and we are responsible for that.

4. What is a challenge you have faced this year? Explain what happened.
Getting my standing back tuck, I didn't give up and after 3 weeks i got it.

5. There's no such thing as an overnight success. What does this mean? Do you agree and why? I think this means that success takes time and it doesn't happen fast. I agree

6. Why do we give up? What can we do to avoid giving up in the future? Who can help us?
We give up because we think things are to hard, to avoid giving up in the future we could try to think more positively, people we look up to eg Olympians because we never see them give up.

7. "If you do what is easy, your life will be hard." What is this trying to tell us?
if you do easy stuff you will never progress.

8. Inner confidence and self-belief are the keys to success. Do you agree or disagree and why? i agree because you have to have confidence in your self to achieve success

9. Who is responsible for your success? ME.
